The Very Hungry Caterpillar

19th April 2011
Austin’s 4th birthday we had decided to theme his party on his favourite book
“The Very Hungry Caterpillar”

Austin helped me blow up heaps of Green & Red Balloons. We drew pictures of all the food in the book and laminated them to put on the wall. On Trade Me I brought a New Giant Hungry Caterpillar that we hung from the wall to look like he was eating the food we had made. We also made cushions for the couch out of Hungry Caterpillar Material.

I made an iron on transfer for a T-Shirt for Austin. He thought this was awesome.
Two of Austin's Aunties wore Eric Carle T-Shirts too...
Invitation
We had lots of fun making this birthday Invitation.
We created an invitation with all the Hungry Caterpillar Food on it and with a single hole punch we punched holes in the food to look like the food had been eaten by the Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Games & Prizes
Pin the hungry caterpillar on the Apple
(I made this using a huge piece of Red card shaped into an Apple and then laminated little hungry caterpillars for the kids to stick on the apple with unique numbers on them)
*
Pass the Parcel with each layer having the story on it
*
Piñata – Huge Hungry Caterpillar

Blow the Caterpillar Egg to the leaf - long straws and polystyrene balls
